Move-in fee disclaimer
$150.00 · One-time move-in service fee
This fee applies to a successful housing placement through SDA. It is due on or before you receive the keys to your property.
Registration is free
Registering with SDA or receiving a housing list does not mean you have moved in or that housing is guaranteed. The $150 charge is a move-in service fee—not a registration fee or a fee to join a housing-authority waiting list.
Separate from property charges
SDA does not charge an apartment application fee. A property may have its own application or administration fee, security deposit and rent. Those are separate from SDA’s $150 move-in service fee.
Before paying any property fee, ask about income and age requirements, current rent, availability and whether its waiting list is open. SDA cannot guarantee approval, a vacant unit or a place ahead of others on a waiting list.
Refund policy
The $150 move-in service fee is nonrefundable once the tenant moves in.
For a payment concern or cancellation before move-in, contact SDA to review your account. This page does not promise a pre-move-in refund, waiver or cancellation entitlement. Property rent, deposits and application charges are governed separately by the property’s terms.
Questions before you commit?
Ask SDA to explain the fee and your account balance before move-in. If you found housing independently rather than through SDA, ask the office to review the placement record before paying an SDA placement fee.
